I’ve always been interested in nutrition, and I’ve tried a lot of things–I grew up more or less vegetarian, not because I consciously made a decision, but because I didn’t like meat. I then transitioned into eating meat, then into eating only free-range meat and chicken. All this was before I had ever heard of Paleo.
When I started CrossFitting and they started talking food logs, I was like, there’s no way in hell I’m doing the Zone Diet. So I read about what they called Paleo and thought, that’s more or less the way I eat anyway. So I became involved in Paleo, committed to eating very few grains, and even more interested in nutrition and the ways our bodies work.
I’m not so sure that Paleo is the way to go. Right now, I think that there isn’t one thing that works for everyone, and while some people thrive on a low-carb Paleo diet, some won’t. I’m still experimenting, tweaking, and trying to figure out what’s best for me. Of course, I’ll be keeping TLSP posted.
